University graduates are shortlisted for Royal Television Society Awards 2025
Nineteen recent graduates from University of Gloucestershire’s Film Production programme have been shortlisted for Royal Television Society (RTS) West of England Student Awards 2025.
The highly prestigious awards by the RTS – an educational charity promoting the art and science of television – recognise and celebrate the wealth of talent, creativity and innovation of students and graduates in the region.
Two teams of recent graduates from the University are among the six finalists in the Drama category: Lewis Hill, Tom Bradshaw, Kiran Ingham, Meredith Wright, Theo Moules and Joseph Edwards for the film Dragon Lich King; Evelyn Wadsworth, Jack Turner, Louis Gibson, Sabina Rosca, Jordan Roger, Jay Thomas and Tabitha Bishop for the film The Creature of Love.

A team of six graduates has been shortlisted for the Entertainment and Comedy Drama award for their film, The Face: Alex Russell, Charlotte Davis, Quan Luong, Brandon Apps, Louis Birch and Imogen Christie.
The winners of this year’s RTS West of England Student Awards will be announced on Monday, 3 March at the Watershed Cinema in Bristol, and will go forward to the RTS National Student Awards ceremony where they will compete against other regional winners later in the year.
All the shortlisted films were designed and created by the students as part of the Film Production programme delivered by the University’s School of Creative Arts, which features a range of high-tech creative and production facilities.
Films made on the University’s BA (Hons) Film Production course have a strong track record at RTS National Student Awards ceremonies, with Delicious Love winning Best Comedy in 2019, Dead Canary shortlisted for Best Drama in 2020, Paper Round Boy winning Best Drama in 2021, and Signed Marlo shortlisted for Best Drama in 2022.

Mike Parker, Academic Course Leader for the University’s BA (Hons) Film Production programme, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that the imagination, creativity and innovation of our recent graduates has been recognised again by the RTS and will be showcased to many leading professionals from within the industry at the awards ceremony in March.
“It’s a testament to how strongly our students are seizing opportunities to embrace the skills they have learned and developed on our programme, as well as how they are putting these into practice to make films of which they should all be very proud.
“Our Film Production graduates and students are excellent ambassadors for the programme and the University, and we wish all our talented finalists every success at the upcoming awards ceremony and in their careers within the industry.”
