University of Gloucestershire takes major leap in Guardian University Guide 2026
University of Gloucestershire has recorded one of the biggest improvements in the country in the Guardian University Guide 2026, climbing 32 places.
The University is the fifth biggest riser in the UK and is now ranked 68th out of the 123 higher education institutions included.
The Guardian University Guide ranks universities based on factors that matter most to students, including teaching quality, student feedback, value-added scores, staff-to-student ratios, and graduate outcomes.
Alongside the overall rise, the University has achieved outstanding subject-level success:
- Paramedic Science – 9th nationally
- English – 10th nationally
- Hospitality, event management and tourism – 13th nationally
- Geography – 16th nationally
- Interior Design – 19th nationally
These results highlight the University’s strengths across a range of disciplines, from healthcare and creative industries to geography and the humanities.
