Completing the DDE was a key step in becoming a dance teacher

Graduate of UoG’s BA (Hons) Dance course, Katie-Rose Williams completed the ISTD DEE course in modern theatre during her degree programme and is now a dance teacher

“The Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) is recognised worldwide and can lead to being able to work all over the world. I feel very passionately about the DDE course, and I mention it to everyone that the University offers it. Being able to do it through the University means you save a lot of money. If the University didn’t offer it, I would struggle to complete it due to lack of funding.

“As I want to become a teacher after finishing university, completing the DDE was a key step in reaching this goal. Being able to complete my DDE in modern theatre while in my second year has meant that I was able to kick-start that goal of being a teacher and I have already found myself in a teaching job at a local dance school.”
