Elliott Haddrell, BA (Hons) Sport Business Management student.
“Studying Sport Business Management at University of Gloucestershire has allowed me to understand the fundamentals of a business environment and running a business. With a variety of different modules, I have been able to learn a wide range of sport business concepts that will enable me to progress into future studies or work.
The support in which I have received during my time at university has been amazing; personal tutor meetings and close contact with module tutors, has really allowed me to progress academically and as a person. If I’m ever in need of help with an assignment or anything surrounding university life I can always rely on Steve and Sarah.
While undertaking my studies in Sport Business Management I have been offered a sports scholarship in refereeing. The scholarship has given me development opportunities in the form of weekly strength and conditioning sessions and regular scholar meetings. This has given me the platform in which I can take my passion for refereeing to the next level.
There have been many highlights in which I’ve had the privilege of attending at the University of Gloucestershire including a trip to Geneva to attend the Junior Winter Olympics. I’ve also had the opportunity to look around the United Nations and understand how they were formed.
On the course, you have many different modules in which you learn a wide range of different topics.
Some of the most prevalent modules in which I have undertaken are Business Research in an Operations Context where we worked with Forest Green Rovers. Another module is Professional Sport Business, in which we learnt the fundamentals of hosting a large sporting event and National Governing Bodies.”
