Global recognition for Digital Marketing students

Ranggada Prabu Sadewa studied Marketing (Digital Innovation) and, together with fellow student Bradley Warren, finished runners-up in a prestigious global competition, the Ericsson Innovation Awards.

“The start-up, called Plug & Plant, is focused on making a device which aids people in their planting journey, monitoring plant health as well as reminding and advising you on what your plant needs via an AI. We were placed 2nd out of 732 teams worldwide and had the chance to meet investors enthusiastic for its release. But, right now, we’re focusing on developing the device further to its beta stage before we pour our time and energy elsewhere.

“If I’m being honest, I’ve always admired the field of innovation and technology. Digital Marketing, at the time and currently is, still a growing industry, one that has so much potential. Once I learned what I could accomplish in the field of Digital Marketing, I explored other avenues in technology and tried to learn skills that would be of use in my start-up.

“Before my start-up, I had the chance to use my digital skills in my previous job at Fitness First Indonesia. During my time there, I was in charge of the Digital Marketing Team, occasionally handling data management and analytics, measuring which marketing campaign was working well and which people to retarget with which campaign.  A whole lot of Marketing jargon there but in essence, I had learned this at UoG beforehand which made everything a whole lot easier.

University of Gloucestershire has been a place for me to grow as a person and at the same time learn many new skills and meet an array of new people. The institution has been a monumental stepping stone for me and I truly hope anyone who goes there will be able to come out a better person than they were before.
