Your grades are just one part of your story, which is why at UoG we accept any grades from any combination of level 3 qualifications.
Here’s an example of how 104 – 120 UCAS tariff points might look for some common level 3 qualifications.
GCSE in English Lang/Lit and Maths at grade 4/C or above are usually required.
Unsure if we could offer you a place? Check out the UCAS tariff calculator or contact our admissions team if you have any questions.
We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants, although some entry requirements may still apply for professionally accredited courses. We accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas and make offers on an individual basis.
We welcome students from all over the world to study our foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

For students choosing to take a year in industry, we provide dedicated support to help you secure a placement that aligns with your passions and enhances your future career.
Recent placements have included work with local ecological consultancies, birds of prey centres and with GIS companies, mapping population densities.
Our students return with invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience, which is evident in their professionalism as they progress into their final year.
A biological degree wouldn’t be complete without the opportunity to study in some incredible environments. In your first year, all students participate in a short residential trip to the Forest of Dean. In your second and third years, you’ll have the option to join a UK-based Marine Ecology residential, or take part in exciting overseas trips to the mountains of the Swiss Alps, the Costa Rican rainforests, or the African savanna.
A key part of this course is how we prepare graduates for future careers. One way we do this is through assignments. You won’t sit exams here, and we doubt they’ll feature in your career, either.
Instead, you’ll be assessed through a range of coursework – consultancy reports, research papers, presentations, website design, posters and more.
Students often use fieldtrips to inform assignments, such as a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park which directly influenced work on an enclosure design module.
