If you are studying for – or already have – a foundation degree, HND or Diploma of Higher Education and would like to top this up to a full BA honours degree, then this course is designed for you.
You’ll further develop your journalism and communications skills under the guidance of our expert teaching team. Lecturers on our journalism courses have worked for national and international media organisations, including the BBC, ITV, The Athletic, The Sunday Times and magazine publisher Bauer Media.
You’ll learn in state-of-the-art studios and teaching spaces, and use the latest technology to create engaging content for multiple digital platforms.
This is a practical course which aims to produce work-ready graduates who have the skills, knowledge and confidence to forge a successful career in the media industry. Students from the journalism subject group have gone on to work for employers including Sky, the BBC, Vice, The Telegraph, ITV, as well as a number of PR and communications agencies and leading sports clubs.
You will be taught in lectures, seminars and workshops. These will be supported by one-to-one tutorials. Assessment will take the form of practical projects, written coursework, essays and portfolios. You will also complete a work placement – or series of placements – in industry.

Applicants should have a level 5 qualification such as a HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent.
Mature Applicants: We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants.
