If you teach students in Year 12 and 13 (or equivalent), bring them along to The Great Create, where they’ll take part in a number of fun, practical sessions that may inspire them to consider studying creative arts at degree level.
After a short introductory welcome, students will take part in three 1-hour workshops, with schools having the opportunity to choose which subject sessions students will be attending*.

Life Tastes Good: Decoding Advertisements |
Give students some tools for critical awareness of the manipulative techniques of advertising with some practical exercises in analysing and resisting advertising. |
5 Minute TV Creation |
The creation of a live 5-minute programme. |
Basic relief and/or stencil printmaking techniques | An introduction to some basic printmaking processes – many of which you can try at home. |

A workshop about exhibition organising, curation and communication |
Deconstructed Drawing |
Join fine art staff from UoG to do a series of large-scale collaborative drawing exercises that become performative. |
Journalism 101 |
Introduce students to the basics of journalism and interviewing, and get them to have a go in our TV studio and gallery |
Architecture talk | A chat about the programme, and a fun but basic drawing exercise to follow! |
Photography session | Creating Photos, Ideas and ways of seeing, using lyrics. Active session out and about around the campus inside and out. |
Spatial Audio Sound Design |
Create your own spatial audio sound scene and hear it on our 22.2 immersive sound array. |

I am… exploring self through metaphor | By making metaphors we can make poems. In this session we walk students through the process of making a poem rooted in sensory experience and self-exploration. They can work individually or in groups, and at the end they’ll have a very personal poem they can be proud of. |
