Your grades are just one part of your story, which is why at UoG we accept any grades from any combination of level 3 qualifications.
Here’s an example of how 96 – 120 UCAS tariff points might look for some common level 3 qualifications.
GCSE in English Lang/Lit and Maths at grade 4/C or above are usually required.
Unsure if we could offer you a place? Check out the UCAS tariff calculator or contact our admissions team if you have any questions.
We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants, although some entry requirements may still apply for professionally accredited courses. We accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas and make offers on an individual basis.
We welcome students from all over the world to study our foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

As part of this course, you’ll get the chance to take your game art skills to the next level with a year-long work placement in the games industry. It’s a chance to experience what it’s really like inside a professional studio – fast-paced, creative, and packed with opportunities to grow.
Game students have previously landed amazing placements with big-name studios like Unity, Sumo Digital, Team17, TT Odyssey, and Playground Games.
Some students even choose to stay on campus and join our Games Research Team, working on real client projects using cutting-edge VR and 3D scanning technology. Whether you’re in a studio or working on live briefs here, you’ll be building real-world experience that will set you apart.
At the start of the year, we’ll take you to EGX London – one of the biggest games events in the UK. It’s the perfect place to get your first real taste of the games industry, check out the latest titles, and see how studios show off their work. This trip is mainly for first-year students, so you can dive in right from the beginning.
Later in the year, we visit Let’s Talk Games in Leamington Spa, where you’ll hear directly from developers and artists working in the industry. It’s a great chance to get inspired and start thinking about where your own game art career could go.
To wrap up the year, we host GAMEX – our own student showcase. It’s your chance to show off your group projects, meet industry guests, and let your work do the talking. Whether you’re into character design, environments, or VFX, this is your moment to shine.
From your very first group game jam to your final-year multiplayer project, you’ll team up with students from Games Design and Games Programming to bring your game art to life. You’ll work in mixed teams, just like in real studios, learning how to follow real development pipelines and create polished, playable games.
You’ll get to show off your work at events like GAMEX, and hear directly from industry pros through guest lectures that keep you in the loop with the latest trends and tools.
Our upgraded labs are packed with everything you need to create stunning characters, environments, and visual effects. By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong portfolio, hands-on experience working in creative teams, and the confidence that comes from building full games in a professional setting.
