Role Profile for Equality Champion

  1. To be available to capture and represent the views of staff and students and channel them to the Equality Diversity and Inclusion Committee to affect change.
  2. To actively support colleagues on this Committee and in other spaces so they can bring forward equality, diversity and inclusion issues.
  3. To collect and share good practice to facilitate embedding equality, diversity and inclusion within their respective areas.
  4. To influence others, and support the voice of others, when in discussions around equality, diversity and inclusion and to introduce equality, diversity and inclusion issues where appropriate.
  5. To act as point of contact for members of our Pride, Women’s and Black Asian and Minority Ethnic + Networks.
  6. To model appropriate behaviours in all activities.
  7. To be an active bystander in situations where inappropriate behaviours are displayed.
  8. To be a champion for all marginalised and disadvantaged groups.
