Student Support

Students and Police Unite

Last updated: 8 March 2021

Student Community Patrol (SCP) is a student-run society made entirely of student body volunteers.

Patrollers are professionally trained, undertaking compulsory exercises in first aid and security. Their training means each volunteer is able to assist anyone who may be facing difficulties on a night out, whether that be a student or general member of the public.

SCP is regularly instructed by the police, helping our student volunteers to focus on the logistics of the SCP scheme, and to equip them with the acumen to handle challenging situations which may arise during their shifts.

Busy student nights are the perfect opportunity to put their skills to practice, so look out for our patrollers, particularly on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

On Mondays, patrollers watch over Pittville Student Village and the routes to and from the centre. This includes overseeing the Boogie Bus service which runs between Pittville and MooMoo Clubrooms.

Wednesdays are very much the same, but on this day, patrollers join forces with local PCSOs. Working directly with the police on this particular shift, creates extra security on what is usually a very popular night out with our students.
