Terms and conditions – Get Uni Ready Photo Competition 2024

Definitions

UNIVERSITY: University of Gloucestershire and University of Gloucestershire Professional Services Ltd.

ENTRANT: The person who has photographed and entered the photograph(s) under their full name on the POV application.

GUEST(S): Any person attending the event which is accompanying an applicant to the university.

WINNER: The entrant chosen to receive the prize.

Competition entry

You agree that if you are a winner or commended photographer you will take part in and cooperate fully with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name and photograph in such publicity, for example, the publication of photograph(s) with your name on the UNIVERSITY social media channels.

By entering the competition, you agree to the provisions of these terms and conditions and to comply fully with them.

The competition is open to anyone except those directly involved with the competition and judging (including their families and relatives).

If you are under the age of 18 you must have permission to enter from your parent or guardian. By submitting an entry for the competition, your parent/carer/guardian is deemed to have given such consent and to agree to the use of the entry as described in these terms and conditions.

The closing date for submissions is 3pm on Saturday 27 April 2024. All submissions received after this time will not be eligible. Please note that sending is not proof of receipt.

The UNIVERSITY cannot be held responsible for entries that do not arrive due to the entrant’s technical problems or restrictions placed by their Internet service provider.

Your entry must be submitted digitally via the POV application invite (via QR code or web link). No other forms of entry will be accepted.

By submitting images to the UNIVERSITY Get Uni-Ready Photo Competition, each ENTRANT confirms and warrants that:

• they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
• they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
• they have the permission of anyone pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by the UNIVERSITY and will indemnify the UNIVERSITY against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement;
• they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by the UNIVERSITY;
• they have received any necessary permissions from the owner(s) of objects including buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by the UNIVERSITY and will indemnify the UNIVERSITY against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.
• If you are a winner, you will take part in and cooperate fully with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name and photograph in such publicity, for example, the publication of photograph(s) with your name on the UNIVERSITY social media channels.

What to enter

Photographs must be entered via the link or QR code to the POV app provided during the event.

On registration for the POV app, the ENTRANT must provide their full name.

The ENTRANT will be able to enter up to 15 images, as per the limit set on the POV application.

A photo will be rejected if it appears to have been taken in such a way that any law or welfare requirements may have been breached or it had been otherwise taken in an irresponsible way.

Photos submitted must be taken on one of the two main hubs for the Get Uni-Ready event – either Pittville Student Village or Gloucestershire Business School (on Oxstalls campus).

University of Gloucestershire reserves the right to remove or refuse any entries from the competition for any reason.

Judging

• The WINNER will be chosen by a small panel of judges from the Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment department at University of Gloucestershire.
• The WINNER will be chosen on the basis of creativity and relevance to the brand.

Announcement of the winner

Judges will choose the winner from entries provided in the POV link.

The WINNER will be informed via an email from the Student Recruitment team at University of Gloucestershire. The only email address they will receive this from is studentrecruitment@glos.ac.uk.

The WINNER must respond within 28 days of the email being sent to claim their prize.

Usage rights

By entering the competition, you grant University of Gloucestershire a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose to further its aims and objectives. This could include but is not limited to use:

• At presentation events, including exhibiting the images in and around Gloucestershire.
• On the University of Gloucestershire website, University of Gloucestershire social media channels and University of Gloucestershire email communications.

Data protection

Your data will be kept securely in line with GDPR regulations and our privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.

General

The information given in these Terms & Conditions is correct, but University of Gloucestershire reserves the right to change any of it without prior notice. By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry. If a breach has occurred but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may require the return of that prize.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English Law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Prize Terms and Conditions

£200 IKEA e-Gift Card

• The winner will receive a £200 e-gift card for IKEA. There is no cash or alternative prize.
• The WINNER will receive the prize within 28 days of the competition closing.
