Artificial Intelligence and cyber security subject of university public lecture

Professor Kamal Bechkoum, Head of the School of Computing and Technology at the University of Gloucestershire, will be delivering a public lecture about using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help cyber security on Monday 6 June at Park campus, Cheltenham. Starting at 6pm, ‘Cyber Insecurity and the Role of Artificial Intelligence’ will discuss how AI techniques have been applied to cyber security to help improve resilience against threats.

Professor Kamal Bechkoum said: “AI does provide us with the tools that enable greater cyber threat intelligence, as we try to stay one step ahead of the criminals. However, AI itself poses a number of challenges not least around the ethical question of using ‘human-like’ machines. I will be talking about whether such machines are ever going to be a reality and touch upon the ethical considerations surrounding this possibility.”

Refreshments will be available from 5pm. The lecture is free to attend, but booking is required.
