Outreach and widening participation

Summer residentials

Our summer residentials run every year in July for students in Year 10, 12 or equivalant.

Applications for 2024 residentials are now open

Meet other students from across the country, live and sleep onsite in halls of residence, try subject tasters in our industry-standard facilities, take part in social activities, and speak to our current students about life at UoG.

A travel bursary of up to £50 is available to help with the cost of transport to and from the University.

“When we were talking about finances and trying to get into uni, I found out that there’s support for all of them, even if you have a low grade you still can get into uni and be successful.” Year 10 student.

Kit list

As part of the summer residentials, students will be provided with meals on each day of the residential and accommodation (individual rooms with their own bathroom).

Below is a list of items that we ask each student to bring with them:

To note: It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their rooms are locked during times of absence. Any money or personal items that are brought to the summer school are at the owner’s risk entirely and the University will not be held responsible for any incidents of loss, theft, or damage to personal items.
