“The lecturers were fantastic”
“They were very easy to get along with and their door was always open for me if I ever needed help. I was having to juggle my full-time job and complete my MSc, so naturally, this posed quite the challenge. My supervisor met with me on countless occasions and exchanged too many emails with me to even count. Without his selfless support and guidance, I would have struggled to secure the distinction I achieved.”
Ben Humphrys, MSc Sports Strength & Conditioning graduate, Head of Strength & Conditioning at Malvern College
“The university creates a great sense of community”
“They have loads of societies and different organisations for students to join they also provide a lot of resources for students to better feel supported. Especially being an international student not knowing anyone, I felt very welcome.”
Kirsten Pearson, MSc Psychology graduate, PhD Psychological Sciences student
“The support services are first class”
“Studying a PhD has given me the opportunity to challenge and extend myself, while at the same time offering me the flexibility to combine my studies with my work as a professional referee. There is a close community working together to deliver innovative research.”
Stuart Attwell, Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise, Professional Referee

“One of the highlights of the course was going on a field trip to China“
“We went with experienced lecturers who were able to explain the culture. I met people who I wouldn’t normally get to meet, such as CEOs of Chinese companies and staff from the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.”
Johann Inden, MSc Marketing graduate
“Postgraduate study offers outstanding career prospects“
“My PhD made me competitive and enhanced my skills/knowledge for my academic career. The postgraduate qualification is truly the engine that moved me forward from the beginning of my academic career. With the completion of my PhD, I immediately secured a university offer at Taylor’s University in Kuala Lumpur, one of leading universities in Asia.”
Joe Qiao Li, PhD Film Studies graduate, Associate Professor in Film Studies at Taylor’s University
“Working with people so passionate about conservation has been an amazing experience“
“Working and doing research on a game farm in South Africa is a real treat and something that is fulfilling the childhood dreams I had of being a ranger in the Kruger National Park. An absolute high has been getting to be involved in a rhino horn trimming, to watch the vets work and be involved in a key part of conserving such an iconic African species is something I’ll never forget.”
Richie Fourie, MSc by Research Biological Sciences student
We’ve put a stop to our printed prospectuses and have been named the UK’s most sustainable university.* Instead of a printed prospectus, we now have this online prospectus and a small pocket guide – which uses FSC-standard recycled paper and CO2-neutral printing process. We’ve reduced our direct carbon emissions by 47% by using less energy and buying green electricity. We also won the Research with Impact Award** – with priority research areas including Environmental Dynamics & Governance and Being Human: Past, Present & Future. And many of our programmes create real-world impact by incorporating sustainability into their curriculum.
