Jon Search

Lecturer in Paramedic Science

I have worked for the ambulance service in the South West for 13 years in a variety of patient and non-patient facing roles. Six years have been spent as a HCPC registered paramedic in Gloucestershire. My last frontline role prior to moving to academia was Lead Paramedic – Learning and Development.

Biography

I have eleven years of patient facing clinical experience working in a variety of different clinical settings. Most of this experience was gained in an NHS ambulance service working as an emergency care assistant and then a paramedic.

Alongside the NHS I have undertaken work as a flight paramedic on behalf of The Home Office and as a motorsport paramedic at The Isle of Man TT.

In 2024 I finished an 18-month training period as a trainee advanced paramedic practitioner in neonatal critical care and retrieval. Along with clinical work I have experience of working in clinical audit, quality improvement and clinical governance.
