Lecturer in Advanced Professional Practice

Senior Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice, also working in clinical practice in a frailty setting but with extensive experience in acute and critical care.

Biography

I am an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner and a registered Nurse by training.

I am currently module lead for both the health assessment, diagnosis and clinical reasoning for advanced clinical practice and the Specialist Practice: Frailty modules.

I also support the Certificate in Independent Prescribing course. I have extensive experience in supporting student learning in clinical practice and have supported delivery of the health assessment course prior to joining the postgraduate team.

  • PG Cert Clinical Research, UWE, 2010.

Teaching & Research

Teaching

Advanced Clinical Practice, specifically health assessment and clinical reasoning.

Frailty and care of the elderly patient, independent prescribing with a specialist interest in pain management.

I use a variety of teaching methods and encourage a blended learning approach to support students to develop their clinical knowledge base and advanced skills.
