I am a registered midwife with a passion for individual choice, individual wellbeing and autonomous practice. I have completed adult nurse education and I am currently a Senior Lecturer and Professional Advocate. I believe in continuous learning and support of others. I thoroughly enjoy higher education as both a facilitator and a learner.

I enjoy discussing the implications of risk society on contemporary practice. I have written about autonomous practice in contemporary midwifery practice.
I enjoy teaching a vast variety of subjects and particularly emergency skills. I enjoy supporting learners new to level 7 study.
I am currently studying emotions and learning midwifery in clinical practice.
I have experience of supporting, recruiting participants and reporting for clinical trials in practice.
I have contributed to the PROMPT maternity textbook.
I am a PROMPT maternity committee member and support external training.
I am an external examiner for University of Bedfordshire for undergraduate midwifery.
