GTA In Criminology And Policing

I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Criminology and Policing, with a focus on applied and innovative approaches to learning. My research focuses on the use of simulation in teaching, as well as the experiences of queer women in relation to music.

Biography

I graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2022, with a First-Class degree in Criminology and Sociology. I returned to the University in 2023 as a Technician in Criminology and Policing, before progressing to my current role as a GTA.

My teaching focuses on the application of Criminology in the real world, where I teach students to put their forensic knowledge into practice through the use of crime scene simulations. My teaching also focuses on quantitative research methods, where I teach SPSS for data analysis across undergraduate courses.

I am currently Module Tutor for ‘Forensic Techniques in Crime Scene Investigation’ and ‘Equality, Diversity and Human Rights for Policing.’

Like my teaching, my research interests cover a diverse range of topics. I am currently completing an MSc by Research in Sociology, using playlists to explore queer women’s experiences of music listening towards imagining futures. I am also undertaking pedagogical research into the use of simulation for teaching, including the use of VR.
