Jean Boyd

Senior Lecturer In Design

My teaching addresses the contemporary circumstances in which art, design and visual communication are situated. I support our students to develop skills that combine research with practice, to think critically and inventively about their discipline of study, and to see further into their own…

Biography

I am interested in contemporary art and design practices as means of understanding the world around us: making visible our current concerns and pre-figuring ways in which we might respond and reimagine. I am a lecturer and researcher, and have been teaching in art departments for many years, lecturing in art theory, contextual studies and studio practice.

Qualifications

  • PGDip: Representation and Modernity, University of North London, 1994
  • BA (Hons): Fine Art, Winchester School of Art, 1984
