I teach prose on all three undergraduate levels and my specialisms include the American short story, experimental writing, theories of the novel, historical fiction and transgressive writing. My BA, MA and PhD were in English Literature: my BA dissertation explored James Ellroy’s crime writing; my MA thesis dealt with satire in the work of Martin Amis; my PhD looked at the representation of the Holocaust in contemporary British writing. I have published poetry, short fiction and a monograph entitled ‘9/11 & the Literature of Terror’ (EUP, 2011/13).
