Peter is a founding member of the CCRI. He has research interests in monitoring and evaluating change in the historic environment and the creation of heritage indicators, agricultural and environmental policy analysis and evaluation, and decision making at the farm level. He has particular research expertise in the design and evaluation of research methodologies. Peter is currently engaged in a project to assess the evidence base for the creation of baseline data and indicators of change for the rural historic environment. He recently led a research programme of 4 projects to develop a research methodology for recording the public and environmental benefits arising from the historic environment. Peter is an experienced project manager and has conducted research for a wide range of government and non-government organisations over the past 35 years.
Peter is a rural heritage policy expert and co-chairs the Rural Heritage Advisory Group at The Heritage Alliance and represents heritage interests on the Defra Programme Monitoring Committee for the Rural Development Programme England and the Defra Environmental Land Management Scheme Strategic Engagement Group.
Peter is an experienced PhD supervisor with nine completions and is currently supervising three doctoral candidates. He is also an experience PhD examiner.
