Biography

Sarah has overall responsibility for academic enhancement and research within the university ensuring the teaching, learning and research are sector-leading and continuously improving.

Sarah joined the University of Gloucestershire in October 2022 as the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic Enhancement and Research. Prior to this she worked at De Montfort University as Associate PVC Education (Transformation) and Deputy Dean.

Sarah leads on the development of policies and processes for approving and regulating academic quality and standards and for the continuous enhancement, improvement and innovation of the university’s academic offer. She also leads the research activity across six dedicated Research Priority Areas.  Sarah is also responsible for the libraries, technologies and information systems

Sarah is a Professor of Education Innovation and her research focuses on future education and technology. She holds a PhD in Immersive Storytelling and has advised the UK Government on Immersive Technologies. Sarah is a Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth’s Centre for Excellence in Media Practice, is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an Apple Distinguished Educator.
