Teaching & Research

Teaching

Katie is concerned with skills sharing and facilitation as a method of workshop-based teaching in the visual arts. She teaches across all year groups, with a primary focus on Postgraduate students in her current role as ACL for MA illustration. Katie is also currently on supervision teams for PhD and Mres students.

Research

Research interests are practice-based and concern narrative, visual storytelling, and folk- and fairy tales. Doctoral research concerned picture books as a mode of intercultural communication and made use of tactile qualities of printmaking and bookbinding.

I am open to discussion on possible PhD proposals.
