Dr Kerry Rees

Senior Lecturer in Psychology

I have been Senior Tutor and Academic Course Leader for three distinct courses: Psychology, Psychology and Sociology and Criminology and Psychology.

Biography

I am interested in non-conscious psychological processes that influence individuals’ goal pursuit and decision making. My particular interests are social values (e.g. freedom), emotions, attitudes, wellbeing, persuasion and identity. I work in research and applied settings.

I have researched a range of topics. These include, the relationship between social values, dietary choices and wellbeing, virtuous leadership and somatic markers implicated in decision making. I am also working in applied settings investigating self-identity in specific groups of people with health issues and the wellbeing of paid and unpaid carers supporting two groups of people; those with intellectual disabilities and those with dementia.
