Your open day
Get the best possible feel for what it’s like to study at UoG at our open day.
There’s so much on offer! You’ll get to talk to lecturers and specialist teams such as Accommodation, Admissions, Money Advice, Student Support and Disability and Wellbeing. Plus, student ambassadors will be on hand all day to answer your questions and show you around.

What to expect from your open day?

Getting here
The campus address is: Oxstalls Lane, Longlevens, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL2 9HW
Free parking is available onsite for the event.
Accessible parking spaces on Oxstalls campus will be available for blue badge holders.
When you arrive our friendly student ambassadors will direct you to check in.
Oxstalls Campus is also easy to reach via public transport.
City Campus
The brand new City Campus in the heart of Gloucester will be opening in Autumn 2025 for Education, Psychological Sciences and Social Work courses.
You’ll be able to explore inside City Campus on the day, with tours running from 1 – 4pm. More information and booking details are available below.

Find out when your course talk and course activity is taking place. We’ll let you know where to head for this when you check in on the day. Please note – if you’re visiting to find out more about integrated foundation degrees, you should attend the course talk for the full degree.

Tours and important extras – available all day
These teams will be available all day in the open day hub to answer any questions you have.
Our academics will be available all day in the open day hub to answer any questions you have about your course. Please do come and say hello.
Our campus and accommodation tours run every 15 minutes from the Campus Tours stand located in the hub. They’re led by our student ambassadors and you can ask them anything about the campus or student life at UoG.
Running all day until 5pm, our free shuttle bus will take you to Blackfriars off-campus halls where you will have a guided accommodation tour with a student ambassador. The shuttle bus stop is next to the roundabout by the main entrance to the campus. Check the Buses FAQ section for more detailed timings. You’ll also be able to view the Upper Quay halls of residence, a 5-minute walk from Blackfriars.

Our team will be available all day in the open day hub to share all the latest information and answer your questions about City Campus, our exciting new campus in the heart of Gloucester.
City Campus tours
On the day you’ll be able to explore inside City Campus. Book a tour at the City Campus stand in the open day hub at Oxstalls Campus, then take the free shuttle bus to City Campus for a guided tour. Running from 1 – 4pm.
Please bear in mind that the site is still in the final stages of construction, so things might look a little unfinished, but your tour will still give you a great feel for what the campus will be like. For safety, we’ll need everyone to wear PPE during the visit which will be supplied. Please make sure you’ve got closed shoes or trainers on though – no sliders, sandals or heels, please!

Our free shuttle bus will take you to the International standard Sports Arena where you can see our sports facilities including 3G and 4G all-weather pitches, tennis centre and hockey pitch.

Clubs and societies
Make sure you chat to clubs and societies to find out more about what they offer and how you can get involved. They’ll be available in the hub throughout the day.
Guaranteed accommodation
As a first-year student, you’re guaranteed accommodation on, or near to, the campus you’re studying at.
On-campus accommodation will be available to look around as part of a campus tour.
You’ll also be able to view off-campus accommodation at Blackfriars, which is a hub of activity with 300 student rooms right in the city centre.
The Accommodation team will be available to answer any questions you have. Find them in the Business School atrium and get all the information you need about the range of accommodation options UoG has to offer.


Getting around
Use the Oxstalls campus map to navigate around the campus, locate the rooms you need to visit for talks, and get a feel for the buildings, facilities, spaces and layout. There’s also a map on the back of your open day booklet.

Explore your new home on campus

Oxstalls Campus is just a short walk from Gloucester city centre, home to Gloucester Rugby, the Cathedral where Harry Potter scenes were filmed and Gloucester Quays.
Oxstalls Campus and integrated Sports Park boast an international standard sports arena. Our students hone their coaching skills, train and play BUCS league games on our array of sports pitches which include 3G and 4G surfaces.

Our excellent sporting facilities include laboratories designed for you to learn via a hands-on approach. You can explore human performance by looking at gait and joint strength or use the 3D motion analysis system to analyse data in three dimensions.
Using the environmental chamber, you could be training athletes for the Marathon des Sables or even the Olympics. The Physiology lab allows you to carry out V̇O₂ max testing as well as measure lactose levels in the blood.

Explore Gloucester
If you have time to spare, why not make your way into the centre of Gloucester and get a feel for this historic, vibrant city that you’ll call home.
It’s a 25 minute walk or short drive from Oxstalls and has some great options for shopping at the Quays and plenty of places to eat and drink in Gloucester Docks.
