Information for parents and carers about the support available to students at the University.

Support available for students

We understand that you want your child or young person to achieve their best and fulfil their potential at University which is why we are committed to providing a supportive and positive environment for all. The services outlined on our student support page are in place to support students should they face any challenges while they’re here.

The University also works closely with a number of local and statutory services where necessary and appropriate to provide a wider support network.

Student Support colleagues who facilitate many of our support services communicate closely with each other (within the bounds of confidentiality) to provide comprehensive and holistic support for students facing personal or academic difficulties.

Digital support

MyGlos app

MyGlos is a personalised app for students that gives them all the essential information about uni life. Whether they need to check their timetable, find out about campus facilities or what’s on, the information is all available on the app.

Students can also access digital assistant ‘Nova’ on the app. Nova provides support for students who need straightforward information and guidance at any time, without needing to come onto campus.

MyGlos Lounge

MyGlos Lounge is an invite-only online community for UoG offer holders. It’s a forum where students can connect with others, ask questions, share worries, and get genuinely excited about coming to university.

Students will receive an email with a link inviting them to join MyGlos Lounge when they receive their offer from us.
