Local artists invited to honour the Greatest of all Time at University of Gloucestershire art show
Gloucestershire artists are being invited to put forward work as part of a new art show being organised by University of Gloucestershire.
The Greatest of all Time Art Show will take place this autumn at the University’s Park Campus in Cheltenham, before travelling to its new City Campus in Gloucester.
The exhibition will feature work by students, staff and community artists, alongside pieces created by University of Gloucestershire alumni and selected items from the University’s art collection.
Reflecting the greatest of all time theme, artists are invited to put forward work for inclusion in the show that answers the question: Who is your greatest inspiration? Entries can be both 2D or 3D pieces. Film, audio and multimedia creations will also be considered.
The Greatest of all Time Art Show is part of a series of events celebrating exciting developments taking place at University of Gloucestershire. At Park Campus, visitors of the show will also have the opportunity to see how investment is delivering a vibrant Creative Campus, benefiting from new studios, workshop spaces and other specialist facilities.
When the show travels to City Campus, the event will give members of the public the opportunity to see inside the stunning new facility that has seen the former Debenhams department store transformed into a cutting-edge centre for teaching and learning.
Professor Angus Pryor, Executive Dean for Research and Head of the School of Arts, Culture and Environment, said: “This exhibition is a celebration of creativity, community and inspiration. By asking artists to reflect on who they consider to be the greatest of all time, we’re opening up a powerful and deeply personal conversation through art.
“It is also a fantastic opportunity to welcome the public into our new City Campus, and to our transformed Creative Campus at Park. In doing so, we will forge stronger connections with our local communities which not only benefit our creative programmes, they add value to the university as a whole.”
The Greatest of all Time Art Show will take place from 14 November to 17 December 2025 at Park Campus in Cheltenham, and from 30 January 2026 to 4 March 2026 at City Campus in Gloucester.
Artists wishing to submit pieces for consideration should visit: www.glos.ac.uk/goat. The closing date for submissions is 6 October 2025.
