You must at application, interview and enrolment stage declare any criminal convictions (spent and otherwise) as this will require a conversation about your eligibility to progress through the application process. In addition, you must declare any criminal convictions during your programme as this may affect your ability to continue with or complete your programme.
Once you have been offered and accepted a place on your chosen course, you will need to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and have a certificate to show that you have undertaken this. This is to ensure that you have declared any criminal convictions that you have so they can be reviewed, and risk assessed to determine your suitability for the programme.
Any criminal record disclosures may affect your enrolment on your chosen course and delays in undertaking a DBS will stop you from going on placement. If you are unable to attend placement this could mean that you are unable to meet the course requirements and will be required to withdraw from the programme. This may have financial implications.
All students at University of Gloucestershire must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct. In addition, health and social care students on courses that lead to registration with a professional body must also adhere to the relevant codes of conduct or professional standards and compliance with NHS uniform and infection control policies.
