Applications should be submitted at least 2 months before the course start date, as it can take between 4-6 weeks to complete the application journey.
If you are an international applicant and need a Student Route visa, you’ll need to apply at least 8 weeks before your CAS deadline.

Before you apply, it is helpful if you have already identified how your proposed research links to areas of specialism and expertise within the relevant School.
Our research priority areas provide a good insight into areas of current research and academic expertise.
You will need to meet certain entry requirements to be eligible for a research degree. View these on our postgraduate research application page.

Our research degrees can be applied for directly to the University using the ‘Apply now’ link on the relevant course page.
Please ensure that you meet the entry requirements for the programme and submit all documentation to avoid delays in processing your application.
International applicants studying in the UK on a student visa are required to study on a full-time basis. View our applying as an international student page.
Our admissions team will be in touch once we have received your application. We aim to respond to your application within 6-8 weeks. We’ll be in touch if we need anything further.
Your application will be sent to the School Postgraduate Research Lead for review of your proposal.
If there is interest from supervisors within the research group, we will then invite you to interview.
If your application is successful, we will offer you a place which you can accept via the UoG applicant portal (see your offer letter for details).
To accept your offer of a place at UoG, you must agree to the Student Contract.
