Course overview

Artificial intelligence is a sector that is on the cutting edge of our society – with the potential to change the way we live in the future completely, driven by the people who develop and understand it.

On our Artificial intelligence degree you’ll work with industry standard software such as Python, R, SQL, tensorflow, pytorch, pandas, Visual Studio and Jupyter notebooks.

In this dynamic and fast-changing area you’ll gain technical skills that give you a deep insight into how these technologies are built and worked with – and an understanding of how they can be successfully applied to solve real-world problems.

You’ll learn to create intelligent agents, learn to work ethically in a field where this is crucial, and learn how you can drive the future. You’ll gain a deep understanding of data flows within organisations and systems, as well as how these can be interpreted and understood to drive future growth on a societal scale.

Study style

You’ll learn through practical work and assignments, rather than through long lectures.

Starting with the basics in your first year, you’ll soon move on to applying these skills to realistic problems. This can be followed by an optional placement year, as well as practical application of all of your experience and skills in your final year.

You can apply to study this course on campus at the University of Gloucestershire, or at the Swindon Institute of Technology (SAWIOT).
