The Certificate of Higher Education in Data Science is an intensive one-year programme that prepares you for an exciting career in the field of artificial intelligence and data analysis.
The course is aimed at industry professionals and provides an introduction to data analysis and data technologies.
You’ll be among the first to study at our brand new £5.8m FuturePark site where you’ll explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of entry-level data science, such as python, machine learning and data visualisation.
The course also provides you with some of the fundamental skills in computer science and programming, such as object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and database design.
The Data Science CertHE course gives you the opportunity to start your journey in the field of data science.

The modules that make up the The Certificate of Higher Education in Data Science will allow you to learn independently, as well as in teams, building crucial skills required for industry.
Theory will be delivered in an interactive and open fashion, driven by your questions and interests to the extent possible within the planned curriculum.
All theory sessions will be followed by a lab session during which you are able to implement the theories you have just been learning, guided by lecturers and support staff to overcome challenges and make steady progress.
You’ll have access to the latest technology and equipment at FuturePark at our Park Campus in Cheltenham – a £5.8 million centre of excellence for cyber and digital which opened in autumn 2024.
The cutting-edge digital hub offers state-of-the-art facilities including a Cyber Control Centre, a Virtual Reality facility, a digital lounge, enhanced teaching and the latest technology including photogrammetry equipment offering new capability to capture 3D objects in different locations.
Developed in consultation with CyNam, Hub8 and Plexal, the new facilities will enable you to simulate real-life experiences, connect with industry and graduate with the skills and knowledge required to drive the sector forward regionally and nationally.
