Laura wins national music industry award

BA Music Business graduate Laura James wins national music industry award for online platform to improve disability access to music festivals.

Laura, who graduated in 2022, was named runner-up at the 2023 UK Music Outstanding Music Academic Partnership Graduate Awards (OMG) for her ground-breaking work in making major entertainment events more accessible to people with disabilities.

Laura’s innovative ticketing platform streamlines the booking process and allows customers to communicate their access needs upfront. As an events freelancer, she’s making waves in the industry and championing inclusivity.

On receiving the award, Laura said: “I owe a huge thanks to the many amazing lecturers at University of Gloucestershire whose continued support has encouraged me to think outside the box and persist in building a career in a niche sector of the industry. The fact I was nominated at all is a testament to them.”
