Top reasons to study this course

This course explores the complexities of education, inclusion and special educational needs (SEN), and prepares you to make a difference in the lives of children and young people. You’ll study a wide range of topics including barriers to learning, strategies for supporting diverse learners, and the policies that shape inclusive education.

Throughout the course, you’ll engage in projects and placements that connect theory with real-world practice.

You’ll explore current debates in education, develop critical thinking skills, and examine the role of educators in promoting inclusion and social justice.

Whether you want to work in schools, policy or advocacy, this course will provide you with the foundation for a meaningful career.

This course is taught through a combination of interactive lectures, seminars, workshops and placement experiences

You’ll engage in small group seminars which encourage discussion and debate with your peers.

Assessment is predominantly coursework-based, using case studies, portfolios, presentations and research projects to evaluate your progress. While the majority of our assessments are designed to reflect real educational practice, a small number of exams are included to support the development of key academic skills such as critical thinking, reading efficiently and managing time effectively.

We give you opportunities to apply your learning in real-world settings, ensuring you graduate with the confidence and experience to support inclusive education in your future career

Our Education, Inclusion and Special Educational Needs course prepares individuals for fulfilling careers in the education sector. Graduates of this program are well-suited for positions such as learning support and inclusion officers, education and disability support workers, assistant educational psychologist roles, policy and advocacy roles, and special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs).

With further training, such as a PGCE or school direct route you can become a teacher after graduating.

Our strong industry links ensure students graduate career-ready with practical experience gained through placements and collaborative projects.

Many of our students also continue to postgraduate study in education, psychology, or social work, further expanding their career prospects.
