Last updated: 14 January 2021

Students may be sponsored by their employers; access loans or charitable trusts and funds; or self-fund, eg by working part-time alongside their studies. However, PGCE students can access the same funding as undergraduate students – please see relevant handout for more information.

Tuition fees:

Each course fee is set individually, see glos.ac.uk/pgfees

For taught postgraduate courses, students who graduated with an undergraduate degree (BA/BSc) from the University of Gloucestershire in 2019 will be eligible for a 20% discount on course fees, or 10% if graduation was prior to 2019.

Disability:

Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) is non-repayable and non-means tested. It comes in the form of practical support not additional funding.

You must also:

Sponsorship:

If your fees are being paid by your employer they will need to complete a Sponsorship Authorisation Form. Once received by the Income Team, an invoice will be issued and full payment of tuition fees will be payable in 30 days from the date of invoice. For more information please contact
moneyadvice@glos.ac.uk

Financial Assistance Fund (FAF):

Once enrolled you can apply to the University’s Financial Assistance Fund for help towards paying for such things as course materials or accommodation etc. Money cannot be guaranteed from this source but it is worth applying because awards do not have to be repaid. You can apply online via your Student Record once you have enrolled on to a course.

Trusts and Charities:

There are many individual Trusts and Charities who offer support for education. For more information please contact us moneyadvice@glos.ac.uk

Council Tax:

Full-time students are exempt from paying Council Tax. If you live with one adult who is not a full-time student, the 25% single occupancy discount will apply. A certificate of exemption will be required by the Council. This can be accessed via your Student Record once you have enrolled on the full-time course.

Student Bank Account:

If you still have a student account, once enrolled, take confirmation of your enrolment to the bank to ensure your account remains interest free, as most banks offer 6 years for a student account.
