• The scheme is only available for use with Advance Purchase tickets. These set times and dates of travel are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. 

• The Offer Holder Day GWR travel offer is available for the dates provided by University of Gloucestershire and the week that the event takes place, running from Saturday to the next Sunday. So, stay for more than a day to get a feel for the local scene.

By bus
A short walk from the railway station is Gloucester city centre and the Gloucester transport hub where you can catch the number 94 Stagecoach bus service. It stops on Cheltenham Road, opposite the campus.

Free parking will be available on Oxstalls Campus for this event; you will see pay-and-display machines, but you will not need to use these on the day.  If you have accessibility requirements and would like to reserve a parking bay, please contact [email protected] 

Please note: we do have accessible parking which is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once you arrive, follow the check-in signs to the Business School. Student ambassadors will welcome you and direct you to where you need to be. We’ll send you an email closer to the time with more information.

• Informative talks – join engaging sessions with lecturers who will outline what to expect from your course
• Interactive taster sessions – participate in taster sessions to explore the type of work you’ll be doing
• Q&A opportunities – Ask questions to lecturers, chat with current students about their experiences and connect with our support teams
• Campus and accommodation tours – Explore our campus grounds, facilities, and on-site and off-site accommodation options
  

This is your chance to see what university life is like and to have all your questions answered.

It would be useful to bring a notepad and pen, phone or laptop in case you want to make any notes. For Physical Education, Sport, Coaching and Physical Education or Sports Performance, please also bring sports kit with you for your interactive session. For Sports Performance, please ensure you bring trainers that are suitable for 3G pitches and indoor use.

Yes – you can bring up to two guests. There will be a Q&A session held for them while you’re in your course taster session.

Scheduled activities finish at 2pm or 2.15pm (depending on which course you hold an offer for), with the opportunity to view accommodation and tour the campus from 2pm onwards.

Yes, we’ll have complimentary welcome drinks. Refectories will be open at Oxstalls Campus if you’d like to buy lunch or snacks, or feel free to bring something with you; there are plenty of tables and benches for you to eat at.

Yes, you’ll be able to view our accommodation options during this event. Both onsite and offsite options (Blackfriars & Upper Quay in the city centre) will be available to view until 5pm.

Next to Blackfriars accommodation is Gloucester Quays where you’ll find a vast range of restaurants with waterside views and a popular designer outlet.

At Oxstalls campus, the opportunity to upgrade your offer applies to all courses for which applicants received an offer directly through UCAS. Applicants who were offered a place following an interview or audition are not eligible, as their suitability has already been assessed through direct interaction with academic staff.

As City Campus is in the centre of Gloucester, there is no on-site parking. However, the nearest public car park is located just a few minutes’ walk away at Kings Walk, Gloucester GL1 1EA. See a full list of Gloucester car parks.

Waterwells Park & Ride also operates daily to the centre of Gloucester, and is conveniently situated near to Junction 12 of the M5.

Just 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Cheltenham and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Montpellier, you’ll be right on the doorstep of Cheltenham’s best restaurants, scenic green spaces, bars, shops and cafés.

Car parking spaces are limited at FCH, so, on 1 March, we recommend you park at the Prince of Wales Stadium (GL50 4RN), which is a 5-minute walk to campus.  On 21 March, we recommend you park at the Park and Ride and Cheltenham Racecourse. Use Service D or E to Holy Trinity Church which is a ten minute walk from Francis Close Hall campus.

With Cheltenham town centre just a 5 – 10 minute walk away, you should definitely take a look. The Brewery Quarter has a great range of restaurants, lively bars and entertainment and a little further into town you’ll find specialist shops and cafés to explore.
