Ruby Lim - BA Business and Marketing Management BA Hons

I chose UoG because I felt secure and welcome here. I've always had a passion for business and marketing, so I was actually really lucky to be able to do this course, because it allowed me to try aspects of both areas and determine which path I would want to go down in the future. My course has allowed me to develop my networking and presentation skills and understand the body language of people, which is important when communicating and making business relations. Last year, the Marketing students all got an opportunity to go to a free Marketing Convention in London and we visited a co-working space, similar to UoG's Growth Hub. The trip was great because it allowed us to engage with entrepreneurs with live businesses. I also took part in a Marketing Expo that the Business School held. It challenged us to come up with marketing ideas for an existing business and it really made all the theory we have learnt come to life. The lecturers are so welcoming and really knowledgeable, they know how to interact with their students and it definitely helps that they have had prior industry experience before coming to teach here. Having a personal tutor is helpful and my experience so far has been really good. I see him a couple times a week- he is easily accessible and I can just pop-in to his office to see him and get the support I need.
