International scholarships
New, international self-funded students* studying on-campus starting in the academic year 2025/26 may be eligible to benefit from one of UoG’s global scholarship packages.
Global scholarship

Amount
£1,500 tuition fee waiver deducted from first years tuition fee at the point of offer.
Application deadline
No application required – this is an automatic tuition fee waiver.
Eligibility
This is for new, self-funded international tuition fee students studying full-time for a minimum of 2 semesters:
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students must be on campus
- Postgraduate Research students can be distance learning or on campus
Study levels eligible include:
- Undergraduate
- Postgraduate taught
- Masters by Research
- Master of Research (MRes)
- PhD
The Global Scholarship will be automatically awarded at the point of offer and detailed in the offer letter. Professional Doctorate programmes (eg. DBA, EdD) are not eligible for the Global Scholarship.

- The scholarship is only available for the named programme in the offer letter and beginning in September 2025.
- Scholarships are non-transferable.
- Students must be studying on a full-time undergraduate taught, postgraduate taught, Masters by Research, Masters of Research, or PhD degree, for a minimum of 2 semesters.
- Applicants must be international fee payers and must be self-funding (see note 1) for at least 100% of tuition fee.
- Eligible applicants must have applied and meet set entry criteria. An interview may be required.
- Applicants must accept scholarship and pay the full advised advanced payment by the CAS deadline.
- Applicants must not be in receipt of any other scholarship from the University of Gloucestershire.
- Scholarships will not be awarded to deferred applications.
- On commencing studies at the University, scholarship holders will be contacted by the University’s Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment Team (CMSR), and be required to periodically participate in marketing activity that includes (but is not limited to) video and photography content creation, blog commentary, supporting recruitment events.
Undergraduate taught merit scholarship

This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or, a strong creative portfolio, or relevant work experience (where required). The value of the scholarship will be £7,500.
Amount
£7,500 tuition fee waiver split over the three years of tuition fee.

This is for new, self-funded international tuition fee-paying students studying full-time. Undergraduate taught students must be studying on-campus. The scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate taught course starting in September 2025, studied for a minimum of 2 semesters.

Progression partner scholarship

If a student wishes to transfer to an undergraduate programme at University of Gloucestershire from an overseas progression partner, the University will offer a Progression Partner Scholarship worth £5,000.

£5,000 tuition fee waiver deducted from first years tuition fee at the point of offer.
Application deadline
No application required – this is an automatic tuition fee waiver.
Eligibility
Students who wish to transfer to an agreed progression pathway from an overseas partner are eligible.

The £5,000 scholarship is split across the number of years of study at the university, as outlined in the table below.

- This scholarship only applies to self-funded, undergraduate students, studying for a minimum of two semesters (one academic year) on campus, paying international tuition fees.
- A valid Progression Agreement should be in place between the University and the partner for students to qualify for the award. Check our list of progression partners and eligible transfer options.
- On commencing at the University, scholarship holders will be contacted by the University’s Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment Team (CMSR), and be required to periodically participate in marketing activity that includes (but is not limited to) video and photography content creation, blog commentary, supporting recruitment events.

- *Students are considered to be self-funded when they are paying their own tuition fees or receiving financial help from family or friends to allow them to pay their tuition fees.
- If a student meets the criteria for more than one of the scholarships outlined, they will qualify for the discount offering the largest reduction of the standard tuition fee. Only one financial award will apply in any programme of study undertaken by the student.
