Top reasons to study this course

Upgrading your HND or diploma to a BA (Hons) Business Management and Strategy degree provides a recognised qualification that meets industry and employer expectations. A bachelor’s degree enhances your career prospects by opening doors to higher-level management roles and increasing your earning potential.

The course can be completed in one year (full time) or two years (part time), providing flexibility for you to balance work or personal commitments.

Our strategically focused curriculum will equip you with advanced business knowledge, leadership skills, and strategic decision-making abilities. You’ll gain practical and relevant experience by engaging in live business projects and industry collaborations.

Throughout the course, you’ll benefit from small class sizes and a supportive learning environment, with opportunities for expert mentoring.

Our strong employer links, networking opportunities, and career support services give you the best chance of success. You’ll receive guidance on CV development, interview preparation, and job placements.

This qualification also creates pathways to postgraduate study, such as an MBA or MSc in Business. Whatever your future plans, this course is an ideal choice for career-driven individuals looking to advance in the business world.

You’ll attend 8 modules, each featuring at least 2 hours of in-class learning. Sessions combine engaging lectures with interactive small-group activities, reinforcing key concepts through real-world applications. With plenty of opportunities for collaboration, discussion, and independent research, you’ll develop a deeper understanding while building confidence in your skills. This is a full-time course, demanding active participation and self-study.

With small class sizes, you’ll benefit from opportunities for personalised support through our Student Achievement Team and the Personal Tutor scheme. Career-building opportunities are embedded throughout your course. Our diverse campus and active business community offer networking events, societies, and real-world collaborations.

Your lecturers have a wealth of real industry experience that helps them make lectures engaging, but you’ll also meet a range of guest speakers and have opportunities to take part in field trips. Previous speakers include Jaguar Land Rover, Ecotricity, Enterprise Mobility, and St. James Place Wealth Management. Previous field trips include the Business Innovation Expo in London, Forest Green Rovers FC in Stroud, and the IPAG Business School in Nice.

This top-up degree enhances your strategic thinking, leadership, and business skills, opening doors to diverse career opportunities.

Graduates can pursue leadership roles in a number of disciplines. These include business and corporate management, marketing, human resource management, consulting and finance and banking. For those with an entrepreneurial mindset, this degree also provides the foundation to launch your own digital business or tech startup.

There are also opportunities within the public sector and non-profit organisations including roles in government, NGOs, or social enterprises.

Postgraduate study is another pathway that students can pursue. Graduates are well suited to Master’s degrees in Business, Finance, Marketing, or HR. Equally professional certifications (CIM, CMI, ACCA, CIPD) also enhance career options.

With practical, industry-focused learning, employer connections, and career support, UoG graduates are well-equipped for success in their chosen career.
