What is UCAS Clearing?
UCAS Clearing is the process by which universities and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses. For many students it’s a great way to find a course, perhaps because they didn’t get the grades they were hoping for, because they’ve changed their plans or they have only recently decided to apply to university.
How does UCAS Clearing work?
If you’re applying through UCAS Clearing, you’ll still need to register and make an application through UCAS as normal. If you're not holding any offers from other universities, UCAS will provide you with a Clearing Number, which enables you to apply for courses in Clearing. If you apply for university through UCAS after 30 June then you will automatically be entered into Clearing. Visit the
UCAS website to find out more about how Clearing works.
