With access to our purpose built labs, equipped with high-end hardware and industry software – 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Tools, Adobe CC, Unity, Unreal and much more – you’ll be able to bring to life incredible worlds, dynamic characters and engaging game prototypes from your imagination. You’ll get first class support from our industry-experienced lecturers who have worked on games for Sony, Adidas, Intel, Crytek, 2K Sports, Rebellion, Eutechnyx and Headstrong Games.
Study style
You’ll learn through practical experience with supporting lectures and workshops. You’ll start by learning and exploring all aspects of design and production of game art, with the opportunity to tailor your modules to your specific strengths and career objectives while you progress. All modules are assessed through coursework, so you can build a strong visual portfolio.
You’ll be taught through hands-on practical sessions, underpinned by visual design principles and traditional 2D and 3D visualisation techniques, a range of skills including – 3D modelling, animation, digital sculpting, material & texture authoring, interface design, modular design, character art, concept art, procedural content production and observational drawing.
You’ll work both on your own and in teams with our games programming and design students. You’ll gain real-world experience and produce an extensive portfolio of artwork, playable games and prototypes – offering you the perfect springboard into the industry.
