A unique location

UoG’s four campuses are set across the city of Gloucester and its neighbouring town of Cheltenham on the edge of the Cotswolds, the UK’s largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Our unique location offers the best of both city and country living, and benefits from excellent transport links to Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff.

With more than 45 festivals a year, an eclectic mix of music and nightlife, and a wide range of sporting activities on offer, adventure is right on your doorstep.

Over 45 festivals each year, placements with global businesses on your doorstep and over 500 bars, clubs and pubs.

Cutting-edge campuses

Our campuses are spread across Gloucester (Oxstalls and City Campus) and Cheltenham (Park and Francis Close Hall). Each campus boasts industry-standard facilities to prepare you for real-world practices – from cutting-edge cyber facilities to specialist biomechanics labs.

We continually invest in our facilities to ensure students benefit from the latest technologies used in industry. In 2024 we opened a £5.8 million centre of excellence for cyber and digital – FuturePark – at our Park Campus in Cheltenham, and our brand-new award-winning City Campus officially opened in 2026 in the heart of Gloucester. City Campus provides cutting-edge facilities for students of Education, Psychology and Social Work, while also providing shared public access facilities including a new Arts, Health and Wellbeing Centre in partnership with the NHS Integrated Care Board, and the new public library.

Work is currently underway to create FutureSim – a cutting-edge, AI-powered Centre of Excellence for Simulation and Technology-Enhanced Immersive Learning at our Oxstalls Campus. Funded by a £2.5m investment by the Office for Students, FutureSim will transform the way students, professionals and employers experience simulation-based education, workforce development and digital practice.
