A mature student is a student aged 21 or above when they start their undergraduate degree.
We welcome applications from mature students, and take into account a range of qualifications and occupational and life experiences. Whatever course you apply for, you will need to demonstrate that you are motivated and committed to degree-level study.
If you are returning to education and want to build confidence and develop your academic skills you could consider an integrated foundation route that we offer as part of many of our degree courses, find out more on our course pages.
You could also consider a Access to HE courses, they are a popular route into university for many mature students. They are designed with adults in mind and provide preparation in specific subjects.
Please note that our professionally accredited courses like nursing, teaching and social work have entry criteria set by the professional body that we must adhere to. This means we are unable to be flexible on the published entry criteria for the course.
