You will have the option to undertake a 12-month industry placement, giving you valuable hands-on experience in the field. The University fully supports your placement journey through dedicated workshops, CV and cover letter support.
Students have completed placements with top cyber security firms in Cheltenham, but you can apply anywhere in the UK or abroad. Gain real-world experience, build your network, and stand out to future employers.
This course will give you the opportunity to make new, often lifelong friends while learning in a supported, cutting-edge technical environment. You will be able to connect with students from across the University throughout your degree, particularly those from other technical computing subject areas such as computer science.

This interactive, brand-new teaching and learning environment at FuturePark is designed to foster discussion and debate surrounding advanced topics in technology and innovation.
Our dedicated cyber security lab, also known as a ‘dirty lab’, features an isolated network, hacking tools and VMware with Cisco hardware to design and configure networks.
In additional to its computing facilities, FuturePark also offers comfortable and well-equipped collaborative workspaces for students and staff to work, study and socialise.

The Students’ Union offers a wide mix of clubs and societies. Tech-focused options include Gaming & Esports, Machine Learning and Nintendo, while those with a business mindset can get involved in the Marketing Society, Design or Mooting & Law.

In Cheltenham there are halls of residence at Park campus and Pittville Student Village. In Gloucester, there are halls of residence at Oxstalls, Blackfriars and Upper Quay. Our accommodation promise guarantees our first-year students accommodation on, or near, the campus you’re studying at.
We can help you find work placements or paid opportunities through Unitemps with local employers. We also run a student ambassador scheme giving you the chance to earn money by supporting the University at a range of events.
