Prepare to join the largest and fastest-growing media industry in the world, on a course that’s built on employability.
Our media, journalism and communications courses were ranked 10th in the UK for teaching and 3rd in the UK for academic support according to the National Student Survey 2023.
It’s designed in conjunction with experts at Google and our industry-facing curriculum means you’ll be learning and practising the skills you’ll need to succeed from day one. You’ll be pitching to major international clients such as HyperX and Unilever from your first semester onwards.
The course provides you with a core set of established, fundamental skills before building on that with emergent technologies and platforms to give you a competitive employment advantage.
Using proven industry concepts including Google’s ‘Design Sprint’ platform, you’ll begin with fast, agile developmental projects. You’ll work with live briefs from international clients that are designed to help you become an adaptable, innovative and creative problem-solver.
Then through a process of guided practice, experimentation and specialism through your second year, you’ll complete the course with a large self-directed project and industry placement.
You’ll be assessed by coursework throughout the course. Assessment briefs are written to provide flexibility, and allow you to take a number of different creative approaches. By the end of your second and third years, you’ll be invited to display your work in public-facing exhibitions, attended by industry professionals.
This course is available to study with an integrated foundation year – an extra, introductory year at the beginning of the full degree. If you don’t meet the stated entry requirements or you’re returning to education, it could be a great option that enables you to study this course.
As well as an introduction to your subject, it will help you to develop valuable study skills, and communication, teamwork and problem-solving techniques, giving you the confidence and skills set you need to progress.
If you’re applying to study as an international student, an integrated foundation year can also support you to improve your English language skills alongside your studies.
To apply for this course with an integrated foundation year, select the ‘With foundation year’ study type from the options at the top of this page before clicking ‘Apply’.

“My background is in design and the visual arts, where I use emergent technologies alongside other forms of media to engage audiences and create participatory experiences and installations. My ongoing practice has seen me working in a wide range of settings, in the UK and internationally and one of my missions as an educator is to pass on this passion for creativity and communication to students.”
