You’re more than just a demographic segment. You have challenges, goals, dreams and aspirations. And these inform the decisions you make every day.
Understanding what makes people tick, what motivates them, is the essence of consumer behaviour. It gives marketers the insight to solve the problems or challenges they face in creating new opportunities.
Our course is designed to channel your endless curiosity to into gaining a greater understanding of consumers. Which, is fundamental to marketing and helps develop better products and marketing campaigns that win hearts and minds.
We provide you with the technology and expertise to work in our consumer behaviour lab, a purpose-built facility, to research what creates different attitudes and behaviours.
The course is underpinned by a deep understanding of professional practice and academic concepts.
You will draw on the expertise of lecturers with extensive professional credentials and research experience and be inspired by industry guest speakers, including those who graduated from the university. Many modules have assignments based on live briefs from national and international brands including BT, Harley-Davidson, and Just Eat.
Outside of the classroom, you have opportunities to be involved in student-led Marketing Society and a Business School initiative called 360, which offers students the ability to consult on marketing problems and opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The course benefits from Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) accreditation, recognised by major employers, allowing you to earn a CIM Graduate Certificate or Diploma alongside your degree.
In your first year, you will study Consumer Behaviour and Analysis, Marketing Principles, Marketing Communication, and Social Media Channels alongside other Business & Management modules. These modules are compulsory for all marketing courses, allowing you flexibility to change to a different course or stream after your first year wish to pursue a different career path.
