Taught by experts

We regularly host guest lecturers, such as experienced paramedics and leading practitioners, who draw on their professional expertise to give you an insight into what it's really like on the frontline of care.

Cutting-edge facilities

Our students get hands-on practice using professional simulation facilities in real healthcare settings. 

Nursing - our brand new nursing facilities within a versatile clinical room allow you to learn the techniques and knowle​dge required to be a successful nurse in the 21st century.
Paramedic Science- use Lifecast body simulation manikins to practice patient treatment, access our simulation ambulance and use the iSimulate Realiti defibrillator and ECG simulation systems.
Social Work - simulation centres offer students a safe place to practice their approach to challenging situations, with mock environments and professional actors. Scenarios are set up in imitation prison cells, court rooms, houses and hospitals.

Placement opportunities

Gain invaluable experience on placements to help you succeed in your career upon graduating.

Every year our students complete over 4,000 work placements and internships.  

Our health and social care students put their practice to the test, in a range of challenging work environments throughout their degrees.

You'll develop your skills and resilience on placements in hospitals, mental health organisations, care homes and homeless charities so you can build both your medical knowledge and patient care experience.

You can also gain experience working with recovering addicts and ex-offenders in local prisons.
