This specialist course immerses you in the dynamic world of meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), exploring events of all sizes and their strategic impact.

You’ll develop essential business and leadership skills, including project management, budgeting, marketing, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement, opening doors to roles in business development and marketing, as well as events management.

Specialising in events management and MICE presents opportunities to work across different countries and cultures, from luxury brand launches to large-scale trade fairs and corporate retreats. If you are passionate about creating engaging, high-energy experiences, this course offers an exciting, creative and rewarding career path where no two events are ever the same.

Alongside your specialism, you’ll gain the essential knowledge and skills for a career in business and management. Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), this degree includes a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, enabling you to succeed in any organisation or launch your own events business.

In your first year each module includes at least 3 hours of in-class learning. This is a combination of lectures, where you’ll connect with students from other courses, and interactive small-group seminars.  

These sessions bring learning to life through activities and real-world applications which reinforce key concepts. With plenty of opportunities to ask questions, collaborate, and apply your knowledge, you’ll gain a deeper understanding while building confidence in your skills. 

The course benefits from small class sizes and opportunities for expert mentorship. You’ll also receive personalised support through our Personal Tutor scheme and benefit from career-building opportunities. 

There will be numerous opportunities to forge connections through business networking events and a range of clubs and societies organised by the Students’ Union. 

Your lecturers have a wealth of industry experience that makes lectures engaging, but you will also meet a range of guest speakers and have opportunities to take part in field trips.   

Previous speakers have represented Jaguar Land Rover, Ecotricity, CMI, CIPD, CIM, Enterprise Mobility, and St. James’s Place Wealth Management. Previous field trips include the Business Innovation Expo in London, Forest Green Rovers FC in Stroud, Freixenet Winery in Barcelona, and the IPAG Business School in Nice.

With expertise in event planning, project management, marketing, and stakeholder engagement, graduates are able to pursue roles such as corporate events planner, conference and exhibition manager, venue coordinator, or sponsorship and stakeholder relations specialist.

The growing global demand for business events presents opportunities to work with multinational corporations, trade organisations, and event agencies. Follow a career path delivering impactful conferences, product launches, networking events, and incentive travel experiences.

Additionally, you could pursue careers in marketing and brand activation, creating immersive event strategies that enhance corporate identity and engagement. Entrepreneurial pathways also exist, with opportunities to establish event consultancies, freelance as a business event planner, or specialise in digital and hybrid event production.

As the MICE industry is international, you’ll be able to explore careers in major business hubs worldwide, from London to Dubai, working on high-profile summits, trade expos, and corporate retreats.
