If you are in receipt of a loan from the Student Loan Company (‘SLC’), the University will notify the SLC of fee waivers by January, who will in turn reduce the tuition fee loan payable to the University.
Tuition fees will not be reduced for students who start their course after the official start date.
In the event of withdrawal or interruption students will lose entitlement to any discount, on resumption of study students on a suspension will again become eligible for discounts. If a discount has already been applied to the tuition fees due this discount will be removed from any calculated fees due.
To be eligible for an alumni discount you must be self-funded (see note 1). If your tuition fees will be paid in full or in part by a sponsor company or organisation (for example your employer) you will not be eligible for an alumni discount.
The discount available is a flat 15% on fees charged in the entry year of a new postgraduate programme of study at the next level of study for any student who has previously received an award as a fee paying (see note 2) registered student of the University of Gloucestershire on one of the programmes listed below.

Note 1: MSc Physiotherapy – unlike other postgraduate taught provision MSc Physiotherapy is delivered as a two year course, the alumni discount is applied only to the entry year fee.
Note 2: For conversion courses which include undergraduate and postgraduate elements (i.e. Landscape Architecture conversion with MA Landscape Architecture) the alumni discount is applied to the masters fee.
As a demonstration of its commitment to staff review and development, the University will fund 100% of the fees for part-time job-related University of Gloucestershire courses that are agreed to be desirable by line or operational managers.
Details of discounts for staff of the University are available on Staffnet. Any queries should be raised with your Head of Department/School or with the Head of Human Resources.
If you meet the criteria for more than one of the discounts, scholarships or awards detailed in section 2, you will qualify for the discount offering the biggest reduction of the standard tuition fee. Only one discount or scholarship applies and no further discounts will be given.

The Global Scholarship is an automatic tuition fee waiver of £1,500 deducted from your first year’s tuition fee (or the full course fees for PGT) at the point of offer – there is no need to apply for this award. New students paying International tuition fees will be eligible to receive the award provided you are self-funded, full-time and studying for a minimum of 2 semesters on one of the following programmes:
Professional Doctorate programmes (eg. DBA, EdD) are not eligible for the Global Scholarship.
Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students must be studying on campus to be eligible, postgraduate research students can be distance learning or on campus.
The Global Scholarship will be automatically awarded at the point of offer and detailed in the offer letter.
The Sports Global Excellence Scholarship is aimed at high performing student athletes who wish to combine high performance sport alongside undergraduate or postgraduate taught study at University of Gloucestershire. This is applied as a tuition fee waiver designed to reward sporting excellence. The Scholarships are open only to international fee-paying students.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate they are performing at the required level in the performance sport. The value of the scholarship will be £5,000 for postgraduate students and £7,500 for undergraduate students applied as a tuition fee waiver.
Global Sports Scholars and those athletes in a first team in one of our performance sports can also expect to receive the services outlined in the table below, in addition to the fee waiver.

This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or, a strong creative portfolio, or relevant work experience (where required). The value of the scholarship will be £7,500 paid across the 3 years of study as a tuition fee waiver as follows:

This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or, a strong creative portfolio, or relevant work experience (where required). The value of the scholarship will be £5,000.

If a student wishes to transfer to the University of Gloucestershire from an international progression partner, the University offers a Progression Partner Scholarship of £5,000 which is automatically deducted off the tuition fees. The student must apply for an undergraduate degree (entering at level 4 (year 1), 5 (year 2) or 6 (year 3/final year) and be studying for a minimum of two semesters (one academic year) on campus, and should be paying international tuition fees. The £5,000 scholarship is split across the number of years of study at the university, as outlined in the table below.
