Placements
Placements are a valuable part of your degree, and we encourage all students to undertake at least one placement as part of their course. From major global brands to innovative local businesses, our marketing students have secured placements in the county, nationally, and internationally.
In partnership with Student Futures, we support you through every step, from finding opportunities to submitting successful applications.
Previous students have undertaken placements at both local and global organisations, including Gloucester Quays, Gymshark, Kohler Mira and Mercedes-Benz.
Trips
Studying marketing at UoG isn’t just about lectures, it’s about seeing how it all works in the real world. Part of the student experience involves stepping out of the classroom and learning more about how marketing works in real businesses and settings.
Whether it’s travelling to London for the Marketing Technology Expo, exploring Las Ramblas in Barcelona, or attending a sustainability conference in Kuala Lumpur with support from the British Council, our students have gained insight and inspiration from the world around them.

Experiences
You’ll take on real-world projects and work with both local and national organisations. Expect practical assessments and opportunities to hear from guest speakers, including industry professionals and former students who’ve built successful careers.
One of the standout experiences is our annual Marketing Expo. It brings alumni and students together to tackle live challenges or explore new opportunities set by real brands. The event ends with a careers session, and there’s even the chance your ideas could be put into action, giving your CV a serious edge.
